Key Research Areas of RaPhyA Lab
RaPhyA Lab leads the development of next-generation precision theragnostic technologies by integrating radiation physics with artificial intelligence engineering to improve cancer patient survival and quality of life.

We conduct nondestructive assay (NDA) and characterization research on spent nuclear fuel. Using advanced radiation measurement techniques such as Gamma Emission Tomography (GET) and neutron activation analysis, we precisely evaluate the physical properties of spent nuclear fuel and develop safe management strategies.

We develop a high-precision radiation dosimetry system utilizing alanine and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques. Through accurate dose verification in medical radiation environments and international standard uncertainty evaluation, we advance quality assurance (QA) in radiation therapy.

We research a prompt gamma ray detection system for real-time dose monitoring during proton therapy. By tracking the Bragg peak position of the proton beam in real time, we improve treatment accuracy and develop technologies to minimize radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.

We develop a customized eye shielding system to protect radiosensitive ocular structures such as the lens during head and neck radiation therapy. Combining 3D printing technology with Monte Carlo simulation, we achieve optimal shield designs and verify their clinical applicability.
